Aldwarke SF  -  Data provided by Paul Leonard unless otherwise indicated.

Please note: there is no public access to this site at the moment.

Although most of the site is to revert to grassland/hedgerows for ease of management and safety, YW have agreed to retain five interconnected lagoons, two of which have new islands (one gravelled). Two more have a series of smaller vegetated islands and the fifth will be 'managed' as a reedbed. It is hoped that the whole thing will operate as a biofiltration system, through which run-off from surrounding land will pass. Please note: Still no unauthorised admittance to site whilst works in progress and the site has developed. The photographs below show additional retained 'wet' lagoon with new island and lagoon with partially gravelled 'U'-shaped nesting island.
