The Sheffield Bird Study Group recording area consists of 12 of the 10Km squares of the National Grid:
SK 19 - 29 - 39 - 49
SK 18 - 28 - 38 - 48
SK 17 - 27 - 37 - 47Below is a map of the SBSG Recording Area, divided into the tetrads we are using to survey the area. Tetrads that are coloured either yellow or green are already taken - there is no difference between yellow and green, this is simply to help define the large 10km squares. You can gain a rough idea of where each tetrad is by comparing against the map of the area reproduced below, but to find out more details of each tetrad and to see how it corresponds to 'on the ground', go to the "Choosing Tetrads" page.
Open a more basic, but clear, area map [tetrads not shown] in a new window.
Or alternatively [if you find it easier to compare] a map of the area is printed at the back of every [annual] Sheffield Bird Report.
