SurveysWhatever the client's needs we are able to design and carry out suitable surveys using established BTO methodologies, including the Breeding Bird Survey and Common Bird Census as well as species-specific methodologies. We will produce a clear, easily interpreted report in whatever format is required, from a simple species list to a more in-depth analysis of distribution and abundance. The group has public liability insurance of up to £5 million covering members conducting fieldwork on the group's behalf.

Data searchesWe can provide a dataset of bird records focused on individual sites, within an agreed distance from a given grid reference, and/or for specific species or groups of species. Depending on the species and size and nature of the area covered by the search this may vary from a handful to several thousand records.
For requests from other charitable organisations relating to conservation issues we often provide this service free of charge but otherwise we make a charge based on the amount of data requested and the time and effort required to provide it.
