Two Redshank back on the new Rother and a single Stonechat in the field to the east.

A Peregrine flew over and onto the Orgreave Opencast at 0920h.

August 2003 - It has been a very poor year for waders on the New Rother stretch

Saturday 12th April 2003
A pair of copulating Redshank established on the New Rother are probably seeing off any other wader species.

Teal - 10; Gadwall - 2; Goosander - 1 male; Redshank - 1; Canada Goose - 2.

Wednesday 2nd April 2003, 1700h
Teal - 10; Little-ringed Plover - 1; Redshank - 2.

Friday 14th March 2003
Little Grebe 1; Canada Goose 5; Teal 16; Redshank 1.
