The actual Estate was fairly quiet, despite the excellent weather. Three Nuthatches heard and 3 Grey Wagtails including a singing bird at Morley Pond. However, in a small area of woodland between the estate and Scholes I managed to find a pair a of Lesser-Spotted Woodpeckers. The male was found initally drumming on a large dead tree and then was joined by a female which performed a 'butterfly display flight'. The male also appeared to be doing some excavation work on this tree too. A walk to the church and back [first]: still a few Tree Sparrows around and a small flock of Linnet on the allotment/set-aside.
