Pete's talk is based on a three week journey that followed part of that route though using slightly more comfortable forms of transport than those used by the nineteenth century sea farers. In it he looks at the varied bird life and landscapes encountered on a journey beginning on land in the Andes foothills and then by sea along the coast of Chile and part of Southern Argentina. Turning northwards Pete looks at something of the birding highlights in the Falkland Islands and South Atlantic and his journey continues via Montevideo and Buenos Aires concluding with brief but memorable visits to the Iguazu Falls and Rio de Janeiro.
